A SUPER-FAST train service between Glasgow and London, with speeds of up to 125mph, was launched today. The first of the new speeded-up tilting trains, capable of travelling flat out on the West Coast main line, left Glasgow Central this morning. Virgin trains can now tilt all the way along the 401-mile route following a £8billion track upgrade, slashing up to 21 minutes from the journey time to London Euston. Passengers on today's 9.49am train from Glasgow were the first to benefit from the express service, which was due to take just four hours and 24 minutes.
