COLLEGE PARK, Md.--Maryland coach Gary Williams's pregame fist pump to the rabid Comcast Center crowd was just a little more animated than usual. The thousands of red-clad fans were just a little louder than normal. Maryland's players were just a little more fired up than they had been in their first eight games of the season. They had to welcome Boston College to the Atlantic Coast Conference the right way. Behind a career-high-tying 21 points from forward Ekene Ibekwe and 16 points from injured guard Chris McCray, No. 21 Maryland did just that, knocking off No. 6 Boston College, 73-71, in the first meeting between the teams since the Eagles beat the Terrapins in 1990.
