A former staff member at Geelong Grammar School has pleaded guilty to more than 40 charges of indecently assaulting children. Phillip Trutman, 44, faced the Geelong County Court today for a plea hearing related to indecently assaulting students in the 1980s and 90s. The court was told Trutman was a boarding house assistant at Geelong Grammar's Highton campus from 1985 until his position was terminated in 1996. The prosecution told the court that Trutman helped with supervision in the boys dormitory and was regarded as a surrogate older brother.
