Two provincial byelections underway in Quebec are keeping voters busy: one in Verchères, just east of Montreal, while the other is in the downtown Montreal riding of Outremont. Each is normally considered a stronghold one for each of the main parties in Quebec. Verchères is former premier Bernard Landry's riding. The former Bloc Québécois MP who represented the area, Stéphane Bergeron, wants to replace him, and is widely expected to do it handily. The race in Outremont is not as certain.
