"In elections, normally people don't want to focus as much on these issues that divide them," Tory said, referring to controversial subjects such as same-sex marriage. "What they want to focus on is what are we going to do to build a stronger country. What are we going to do to make my family more secure in their work? What are we going to do to make it easier for my family to get by and pay the bills and for my kids to be able to ... go and get a good education? That's what people want to know."
